Rumours’ is the eleventh studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released in 1977. The album was a major commercial success, spending 31 weeks at the top of the US album chart, while reaching number one in many countries around the world. The album has become one of the best-selling albums of all time, with over 45 million copies sold worldwide. It features some of Fleetwood Mac’s biggest hits, including ‘Dreams’, ‘Go Your Own Way’, ‘Don’t Stop’, and ‘The Chain’. The album was recorded in California in 1976, at the height of internal turmoil in the band, as members Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks were in the midst of a tumultuous romantic relationship. As a result, the album is heavily influenced by emotional and personal themes, as well as the professional tensions amongst the band members. The album is hailed as a classic of the rock era, and is widely considered to be one of the best albums of all time.
